They tried to take advantage of me and sell me repairs that I don't need. Still searching for an honest mechanic. I had my car at jiffy lube for a tire repair and they told me I needed rear brakes but that the fronts were good. While I felt that jiffy lube did a good job with my tire, that wasn't something I wanted done there so I took my car to silver creek repair. They tried to tell me my car needed front and rear brakes - rotors, pads, and calipers and told me that the rear ones were metal on metal. My dad is very knowledgeable about cars and mostly does all his own work on his cars. He did my front brakes (with OEM parts) about 20,000 miles ago. So I had him check them out and the fronts brakes are in good shape. The pads have about 80-90 percent life left in them, the calipers aren't locked up, and the rotors don't have much rust on them. The rear brakes do need done however they are not metal on metal and I would know if they were due to the noise it would make if they were (plus my dad verified this by looking at them). This shop also charged me $130 because I had told them to go ahead and do it and then 10-15 mins later called back and said to hold off. Well when I called back they said they had already taken it all apart. My dad said there are not signs it was taken apart. There is rust on the bolt(?) that would have to be unscrewed to take it apart and there would be marks on it due to this. In response to the owners reply - Your website says that it is $29.95 + tax for a brake inspection. Also, I now have three other opinions from people saying my front brakes are good. One being Jiffy Lube before I even brought it in to your shop, two being my dad, and three being Jordan's Auto Repair (in Wadsworth). Jordan's ended up replacing my rear brakes and I have an invoice from them that says in the comments that the front brakes have 70% life left. I can show it as proof of their opinion. I want my money back.

Jenna, I’m sorry to hear about your experience with our company. We strive to provide an excellent customer experience. I read your review while I was out of town and wanted to reply, after consulting with my staff, prior to my response. Your vehicle was disassembled prior to my departure on Friday.. The review of the brake inspection report was: Front brake caliper piston sticking/frozen, Left. Wheel/brake hanging noticed prior to disassembly. Pads worn irregularly. Rear brake pads at or near metal on metal. Caliper glide pin frozen. Right Recommend: replace front calipers, pads and rotors. Replace rear calipers, pads and rotors. Estimate was written and approved by the customer. Customer called back and canceled the approved repairs. Vehicle was reassembled and returned to the customer. As for the charge of $130. This is our standard brake inspection charge. This includes cleaning and lubricating parts as needed, if your vehicle requires no repairs. If your vehicle needs brake repairs, and you have us do the repairs, you are not charged the inspection fee. Silvercreek Repair has been in business for over 25 years in the same location. We rely on our reputation and combined experience of over 105 years. Search us on Surecritic.com, we hold a 4.9 star average with over 1000 reviews. ( The difference between Surecritic and Google is, Only a customer, generating an invoice can review us) We sell quality parts with the industry's best aftermarket nationwide warranty.

Good service, overall. Just need to pay attention to details of vehicle prior to returning to customer. Make sure all tools are put back and all caps are tightened the little things.

Kip, I just want to apologize for all the confusion. There is no excuse for the issues that you had. I appreciate the feed back. We strive to be perfect with every job and every customer. I know that we are not perfect, sometimes we need a realty check and we got one on this job. Again thank you for the honesty and the review.

If you want a highly skilled business that will always be honest and fair then “Silvercreek Repair” is the place to go. Some places might take advantage of customers who don’t know a lot about cars but that would never happen with Frank the owner of Silvercreek Repair! He is a man of integrity!

Thank you Larry for the 5 star review
